ＳＤＭｓ5年生、国際コンテスト入賞の二人（丸山さん、間嶋さん）が、私の質問に答えてくれました。
１．どんなアイディアを、どのような形で提出しましたか？
私たちは、「質の高い教育を全ての人へ提供する」という軸の下で「教育、男女平等、テクノロジーの利用」という視点からアイディアを考えました。一次審査では、ポスターを制作し、二次審査でプレゼン動画を提出するという形でした。
２．なぜ挑戦したいと思いましたか？
丸山さん
私はどんなことにおいても挑戦する機会があればやってみたいと思っているので、コンテストを見つけた時に深く考えずに参加したいと思いました。また、挑戦することによって自分の中で様々な気づきがあると思うので、経験の一つとしてチャレンジしてみました。
間嶋さん
国際的なコンクールへの参加に興味がありました。また、丸山さんとは模擬国連などへの参加も過去にしていましたので、今までに経験したことのないものにも2人で参加してみたいと思ったからです。
３．苦労したことは ありましたか？
丸山さん
私がこのコンテストで苦労したこととしては、一次審査を通過し二次審査でショートビデオを作製する際に、述べたいことを1分という短い時間に詰め込むことでした。特に、英語での提出になるので、伝えるべきことを的確に述べる、かつ分かりやすくプレゼンをすることに気を付けました。
間嶋さん
私が特に苦労したことは2次審査のショートビデオの音声を吹き込む際に、海外の方にも伝わるように、はっきりと聞き取りやすいように発音することと自分たちが今一番伝えたい事を強調するように読むことでした。
４、英語の文章で何か書いたものがあったら、紹介してください。
Hello. Our proposal is to provide high quality education for all.
It is important to use and apply science and technology as a means to
achieve this goal. To that end, we have been thinking from three
perspectives. The first is education, and we will use computers to
create an environment where all children can learn at any time. We
would like to hold classes online. The second is gender equality. We
would like to create gender-free learning opportunities for students.
For example, we will create a program where students can experience
professions they want to work in, and their choices should be free
from any gender biases toward professions. We believe this kind of
chances will help students to improve their motivations for learning.
The third is environmental issues. We would like to teach online how
to improve our awareness on environmental issues, and take concrete
action. For example, we could teach students on how to improve water
quality through experiments, which can be easily conducted. This kind
of learning opportunities will enable young people to act by
themselves to protect the environment, thus protect themselves.
These activities will change ways we think about education around the
world. Thank you.

生徒たちのSDMｓ活動を支援してくれている先生から報告がありました
今回、彼女たちがすばらしかったのは、作品制作は、全部、自力で行い、頼ってこなかった点です。これまでは、「先生、みてください」と言ってきて、赤入するのが常でした。最近、生徒は、英語においても、自立し始めています！！
たとえ至らぬ点があったとしても、自力でやる勇気と自信、そして度胸が、どれだけ素晴らしいか、と実に感慨深いです。
